I’m building the handoff note I wish my team had
Every support shift ends with somebody typing an essay nobody reads. I’m trying to turn it into the five things the next person actually needs.
This started at work, not in a startup idea notebook. Our evening shift keeps inheriting conversations without knowing which customers are angry, which promises were made and what absolutely cannot wait until tomorrow.
The first version asks three questions: what changed, who needs attention and what did we promise? It then turns the answers into one short handoff.
I showed it to my manager before I could overthink it. She asked whether another team could try it. I have been smiling at that sentence for an unreasonable amount of time.
